(Israel)

Pnina was present at the “III Entre Amigos Environmental Fair”, an event dedicated to cultivating the seed of recycling and caring for the environment at the San Pancho Community Center. She is an Isreali artist and audio engineer as well as an expert in fusing natural elements into her artistic creations.  Pnina revisited the project, ”A raft for Nahuel (and for Tao, Nayar, Sasil, Kinu, Samadhi, Uma, Frida, Haramara, Antonio, Amaru, Balam and Uma) created by fine artist Snyder Moreno Martin during his residency that used recycled materials and PET.  Pnina had the help from children attending Imiari, free training center, who explained the process from the initial project with PET and how the message of that first attempt could be better. This time, she sought to change the message and instead of taking PET to the sea, an action that we want to avoid at all costs, a raft was built with the same participants from the previous workshop.  The same raft in Snyder’s project was then built entirely of bamboo, with the intention of exhibiting the final result at the Feria Ambiental (Environmental Fair). Pnina taught the children design methodologies like drawing sketches, models, prototypes. Material’s characteristics and their constructive functions were investigated. She emphasized how important it is to stop using materials that take tens of thousands of years to decompose. The materials were obtained from the community.

They learned about knots, ties, and binders; And most importantly, they apprehended the reflective possibility of art, I understand that creative processes serve to elaborate more and new questions, beyond always needing closed and definitive answers.

Pnina had the help of the children of “Imiari, free educational center ”who explained the process from the initial project with PET and why the message of that first attempt was wrong, until the course and change of materials from the organic raft to the curious who came to see, always with a message to be more consistent every day in our actions, selections and decisions in pursuit of care for life.
